Estonian Universities

You might have never heard of it, but Estonia.. the small northern European country with one million inhabitants is known as the "Silicon Valley" of Europe, with the largest number of successful business start-ups per year in the whole of Europe (especially in the IT field). Here are some fast facts about Estonia and its universities:

1) Estonia is the country of Skype and many other genius IT inventions. So for those of you who wish to study IT, Estonia is one of the best countries in which you can do that.

2) Two Estonian universities are among the best in the world (University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology). Both are ranked on QS world rankings between 500 and 600.

3) Education costs around 3000 Euros per year. Cost of living is between 3500 and 5000 Euros per year. So all in all, a year might cost between 7000 and 8000 Euros.

4) The Tallinn University of Technology currently gives free tuition fees to the best 60% of students who are accepted to the university. So you have a very high chance of studying for free if you have very good grades in high school or in your bachelors.

5) The Estonian government offers excellent students a salary of 350 Euros per month.

6) Estonia is a member of the European Union, which means that when you get a visa for Estonia you are allowed to travel around Europe. After graduation, you can be given 6 months to search for a job in Estonia.

7) The country can get extremely cold (but beautiful) in the winter, but is one of the most peaceful and well-educated countries in Europe.
